Responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests in and around the pool area by actively monitoring swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. Provides excellent guest service, maintains a professional presence, and follows all health and safety standards

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

  • Provide courteous guest service to all guests

  • Initiate and engage in conversations in a professional and friendly manner

  • Work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Work independently and as part of a team

  • Guard the pool from lifeguard stands to ensure guest safety at all times

  • Maintain an upright and attentive posture while guarding

  • Follow all safety and health standards as set forth

  • Assess situations and perform rescue skills in accordance with American Red Cross guidelines (sidestroke, crawl, or breaststroke)

  • Respond to visual and oral cues and act quickly in emergency situations

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Must be 16 years of age

  • Lifeguard certification; CPR for the Professional Rescuer; First Aid training (must be certified prior to employment)

  • Enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to tolerate a closeknit environment with constant coworker interaction

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and other adverse conditions

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the pool area efficiently, regardless of temperature

  • Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to perform under pressure and handle emergency situations

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs

  • Must be able to swim 500 meters nonstop using sidestroke, crawl, or backstroke

  • Must be able to lift lounge chairs and move towel carts during shifts

  • Requires heavy lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays

  • Must maintain the physical stamina and mental focus required for emergency response
