Organization:
MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical CenterEnsures and monitors the safety of patients, members, and therapeutic staff by preventing and responding to emergencies. Assists pool patrons, patients and therapy staff as needed. Checks in members and patients, maintains the pool deck/locker rooms, and monitors pool operations. Provides the highest level of customer service by complying with safety guidelines, regulations, and good practices.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
ARC-Lifeguard - American Red Cross
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
1 year recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency medical procedures.
Good understanding of good customer service standards and practices.
Possess good written and verbal communications skills to explain safety information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
Apply life-guarding surveillance and rescue techniques while reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and provide customer service.
Recognize, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting solutions from established options.
Ensure the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI).
Work independently as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Build collaborative relationships with patrons, patients, peers, and other healthcare provides to provide quality customer service in a safe environment.

Pay Range is $24.00 to $30.00 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
