We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Pool Lifeguards to join our casual pool on an as-needed basis. If you are passionate about water safety and enjoy working in a dynamic aquatic environment, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Casual Pool Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all patrons using our aquatic facilities. You will be called upon to fill shifts as required, making this an ideal opportunity for those seeking flexible work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor all pool users to ensure their safety at all times
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations in a professional and courteous manner
  • Conduct regular pool inspections and report any hazards or maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and pool conditions
  • Assist with the setup and pack-down of aquatic equipment as required
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and visitors
  • Participate in regular training and skill maintenance sessions

Requirements

  • Current Pool Lifeguard qualification or equivalent certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Strong swimming ability and physical fitness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends, public holidays, and early mornings or evenings
  • Working with Children Check (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
