Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Pool Lifeguards to join our casual pool on an as-needed basis. If you are passionate about water safety and enjoy working in a dynamic aquatic environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise swimmers and enforce pool rules to ensure a safe aquatic environment
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid
  • Conduct regular pool inspections and monitor water quality
  • Set up and pack down pool equipment as required
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
  • Maintain accurate records and complete incident reports when necessary
  • Assist with the delivery of aquatic programs and activities as directed

About You

  • Hold a current Pool Lifeguard qualification
  • Possess a current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
  • Be reliable, punctual, and professional in your approach
  • Have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays

Requirements

  • Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Strong swimming ability

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
