Job Description

Job Title: Lifeguard
Location: Wonderspring – Colonial School-Age Program

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated seasonal Lifeguard to supervise our Colonial School-Age Summer Camp  located at the Colonial Elementary School.

About the Position
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all children during scheduled swim sessions
  • Enforce water safety rules and emergency procedures at all times.
  • Deliver basic water safety instruction and support children of varying swim abilities.
  • Conduct daily checks of pool equipment and maintain cleanliness of the aquatic area.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to any aquatic emergencies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; CDA preferred.
  • Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Red Cross) is required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Must meet all DHS requirements, including current clearances (PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR) and a Health Assessment with TB test.
