Position Summary
Larchmont Yacht Club is seeking motivated, safety-focused Lifeguards to join our seasonal aquatics team. Lifeguards play a critical role in protecting the safety and well-being of members and guests while contributing to a positive and enjoyable pool environment.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their professionalism, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a strong, team-oriented lifeguard program at a premier waterfront club.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active and attentive supervision of all swimmers and pool areas
- Enforce pool rules and safety standards consistently and respectfully
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues and first aid situations
- Administer CPR, AED, and first aid in accordance with certification standards
- Assist with daily pool operations including opening, closing, cleaning, skimming, vacuuming, and water quality checks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free pool deck and surrounding areas
- Inspect, restock, and maintain safety and first aid equipment
- Communicate safety concerns or maintenance issues promptly to the Pool Director or Head Guard
- Attend required staff meetings, in-service trainings, and safety drills
- Represent Larchmont Yacht Club professionally through appearance, behavior, and member interactions
- Support pool leadership and Club operations with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications
- High school coursework required
- Strong swimming ability, including lap swimming and diving to pool depth
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required
- - Certification must include First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED
- Previous lifeguarding experience preferred but not required for strong candidates

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and move continuously throughout a shift
- Ability to perform rescues and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions
- Tolerance for exposure to chlorine, pool chemicals, and cleaning agents
