Job Description

BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company on a mission to change how organizations manage safety, learning, and compliance. We sell safety software to businesses and online safety training to the people who need it - and we are looking for an Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own our marketing outreach end to end: the program, the audiences it reaches, and the data underneath it.

About the Role:

We are hiring you to be the expert, so you set the strategy, run it past marketing leadership, and go. Our ideal candidate is analytical first: comfortable in messy data, willing to dig for the truth, and organized enough to keep every audience defined and every journey mapped instead of running on instinct.

This role owns two things that depend on each other: the data underneath our marketing funnel, and every message that runs on top of it. We run a course business and a software business side by side, and that gives this program an unusual amount of room. A software buyer, a course buyer, and a prospect who is still deciding all need different content.

Your first job is making the funnel measurable and trusted You will help settle what a lead means at each stage and keep records staged against it, decide what we send and to whom, hold the line on consent, and produce the reporting we judge marketing performance by. You will build it yourself, working closely with our web team wherever tracking spans our properties, and with the support of marketing leadership and a growing marketing team. HubSpot is our system of record, and you will own many of its processes.

This is a build role - it's the foundation to our email and lead tracking. Our email outreach currently runs across several disconnected systems, our nurture program is only partly built, and there are many customers who have never received a lifecycle message from us. Best practices, automated flows, and new designs are all still to be built, and all of it has to hold up to the compliance obligations we operate under. How well we capture leads and run lifecycle marketing shapes the experience every potential customer has with us.

This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, Alberta office.

In this role, you'll be expected to:

  • Build and run the email program across our course business, our software funnel, and the messages our training platform sends learners, including a general subscription program and the capture mechanism we do not have today
  • Build the audiences and journeys who sits in each group, what they care about, and what they should receive at each stage
  • Own consent and compliance under CASL and CAN-SPAM as standing practice rather than a one time cleanup
  • Own much of how HubSpot runs as our system of record lifecycle stages, properties, workflows, and reporting
  • Fix and hold lead data accuracy so records are added and staged correctly and the funnel can be trusted
  • Build attribution you can stand behind, so we can say what email actually produced in leads and course revenue
  • Build the reporting and scoreboards leadership makes decisions from, and be accountable for those numbers being right
  • Automate lead routing, and manage the flow of outbound leads from our external partner into our systems
  • Work across product and web on system side email such as course launches, abandoned carts, and upsells, and so tracking stays consistent and correct across our properties
  • Protect reseller cross-branding so partner customers never receive email that promotes BIS over the partner
  • Bring in outside specialists for technical or copy work where it makes sense, and review what they produce before it ships

You might be the right fit if you:

  • Built an email program from scratch rather than inheriting and running someone else's
  • Built multiple trigger and audience based flows driven by real behaviour, not one list on a schedule
  • Ran lists in the thousands to tens of thousands with distinct segments, and can explain how the content changed at each stage
  • Untangled a CRM that years of good intentions had made incoherent, figured out what was actually happening in it, and rebuilt it into something that held together
  • Build in the platform yourself. You write the workflows and set the properties rather than briefing someone else to do it
  • Read the numbers instinctively. The systems here only come together through data, and that matters to us more than design polish
  • Distinguish a software buyer from a course buyer and build accordingly
  • Treat consent and deliverability as part of the craft rather than someone else's problem
  • Own what goes out. Once send is pressed it is gone, so typos and broken links are not part of the deal
  • Work across teams to define an integration objective and get it built, without needing to write the code yourself

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • 4+ years in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or marketing operations experience
  • Deep hands-on experience in HubSpot or a comparable platform (Klaviyo, Listrak, Mailchimp, etc): workflows, lifecycle stages, custom properties, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Canadian anti-spam law (CASL) and the equivalent obligations elsewhere (US)
  • Lead generation or lead funnel experience, with real understanding of how lifecycle stages work
  • Practical understanding of attribution and data hygiene inside a CRM, and the confidence to say when a number is wrong
  • A track record of building email or nurture programs that produced measurable results you can point to

Bonus points if you have:

  • B2B SaaS experience, where the lead is the conversion
  • Run both a consumer or eCommerce funnel and a B2B funnel at the same company
  • Integration work: APIs, Zapier, or moving data between systems that were not designed to talk to each other
  • Migrated or consolidated marketing platforms
  • Put AI tools to work in your own workflow: analysis, QA, copy, or build

Compensation and benefits:

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life insurance and disability insurance
  • Health spending account
  • Flexible working hours
  • On-the-job training and growth opportunities
  • Free on-site parking
