Accurate managing and controlling of Life Science and Healthcare import/export shipments according to client instructions, SOP’s, SARS, WHO and IATA standards and regulatory compliance, as well as GXP and Best Practice principles.

In this Life Science Controller position

• Checks pre-conditioning, build-up, and break down of active ULD’s (e.g., Envirotainer, CSafe, etc.) and passive temperature-controlled packaging (e.g., pallet shippers, Silver pods, etc.)
• Conduct random physical inspections of the inbound/outbound cargo
• Ensures customer requirements are met and takes corrective actions in case of deviations from customer requirements
• GDP standards in cooperation with Thermonet / Life Track services to be followed and maintained
• Handles goods within the required temperature range as per documentation / CSOP, including correct storage
• Helps to ensure contractor adherence to quality procedures
• Instructs warehouse about handling procedures of the respective shipments, ensure CSOPs and internal SOPs / Wis are followed
• Interacts with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centres, if required
• Monitors and controls inbound cold chain processes (e.g., communicate flight delays, re-icing of containers).
• Performs all duties specified in LSHE SOP’s and CSOPs
• Performs delivery arrangement, including DC Bookings, driver notification of preconditioning temperatures and monitoring temperatures via monitoring system while deliveries are taking place
• Processes, handles and distributes all required documents in the receiving / dispatching areas
• Receives, handles and transmits customs documentation from airlines or other 3rd parties to Lead/Hub stations and other 3rd parties (e.g. customs authorities, customs broker)
• Records all inbound/outbound deliveries
• System data updates within CW1, Movation, Control sheet but not limited too
• Invoicing
• Take care of icing/re-icing of Envirotainer etc.

• Health & Safety regulation knowledge.
• Ability to identify and meet customer needs in a timely, pleasant and friendly manner
• Basic Financial Acumen (Revenue, Cost, Gross Profit, etc.)
• Commercial attitude
• Competent in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Computer and Microsoft Office Literate
• E Learning curriculum DHL Air Thermonet and My Talent World
• Excellence in mathematics
• Extensive knowledge of Air Freight Logistics and Operations
• Global Logistics and Geographical knowledge
• Good administration skills
• Systems knowledge
• Results driver and attention to detail
• Sound knowledge of logistics
• Strong Communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Trained and certified for Thermonet requirements.
• Weekend Overtime if required
• Forklift Licence will be beneficial to assist in warehouse if required
• 3 – 5 Years working experience in Operations Freight Forwarding Logistic
• Matric or equivalent
• Advanced Computer Literacy
• F2 forklift license preferable
