Job Description

Looking for a diverse regulatory role where you can make a real difference in the community?

Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a customer-focused and proactive Licensing Officer to join our Community Safety and Regulatory Services team.

In this varied role, you'll provide licensing and compliance advice, undertake inspections, investigate complaints, and support the delivery of regulatory services that help keep Rotorua a safe and thriving place to live, work and visit. You'll work across a range of areas including alcohol licensing, noise control, abandoned vehicles, public health and other regulatory functions.

We're looking for someone with experience in a regulatory, compliance, enforcement or investigative role who can balance customer service with legislative requirements. You'll be a confident communicator with strong report writing skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage challenging situations professionally.

You'll enjoy working independently, building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and finding practical solutions to complex issues. Experience presenting evidence before licensing, regulatory or judicial bodies would be an advantage.

At Rotorua Lakes Council, you'll be part of a values-driven organisation committed to being customer focused, community driven and people at the heart. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your regulatory experience while contributing to positive outcomes for our community.

If you're ready for a challenging and rewarding role where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.
