The Supportive Living Monitoring Program (SLMP), within the Licensing & Compliance Monitoring Branch, directly monitors over 1,000 accommodations to ensure you are meeting the requirements of applicable legislation, including the Continuing Care Act, regulations thereunder, and the Accommodation Standards. You may encounter a wide range of settings, many of which present unique challenges that require thoughtful, measured, and sometimes tailored approaches to support compliance. SLMP also ensures alignment with Ministry legislation, regulations, standards, and departmental policies.
In this role, you will actively participate in on-site inspections and facility investigations of varying complexity, under the direction of the Director or Manager. The main goal of these inspections is to strengthen public accountability by ensuring the continuing care system and internal operational controls are working as intended, are properly enforced, and that operators are providing safe, secure, and high-quality services to Albertans living in these accommodations.

Location These opportunities are located at ATB Place North, 10025 Jasper Ave., Edmonton OR at 710 4 Ave SW, Calgary, T2P 0K3.
Travel This position is approximately 80% travel with approximately 50% of that being overnight travel. The candidate may have to travel up to 5 days per week, overnight stay. Ability to travel throughout the province. Occasionally, travel may be required on short notice.
Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
