About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We’re looking for a Licensing and Optimisation Specialist to lead our Microsoft licensing and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) capability helping customers stay compliant, reduce cost, and get more value from their Microsoft cloud investment.

Based in any one of our Theta offices, you’ll be Theta’s go-to specialist, partnering with customers, Microsoft, distributors, and internal teams to design practical licensing solutions, optimise subscriptions, and support successful delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape our licensing and cloud optimisation services, influence direction, and work across leading Microsoft technologies in a high-trust consulting environment.

What you’ll do

  • Own governance, provisioning, and optimisation for our Microsoft CSP and licensing services
  • Advise customers on Microsoft licensing models, compliance, and optimisation opportunities
  • Oversee tooling, reporting, billing, and cost management for cloud consumption
  • Support pre- and post-sales activity, including discovery, proposals, RFPs, and customer outcomes
  • Build and maintain key partner relationships with customers, Microsoft, CSP providers, and distributors
  • Support vendor and third-party governance, including contract obligations, renewals, reporting, and cost tracking
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement, including GenAI-enabled service enhancements
  • Attend Microsoft events, training and online sessions and undertake day to day communication with key Microsoft stakeholders

Skills and experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • 4+ years’ experience in MS licensing within enterprise ICT environments
  • Strong Microsoft CSP experience, including licensing models and software procurement
  • Proven understanding of the technologies, service offerings, licensing models, costs and benefits of Microsoft licensing and relevant MS Partner associations
  • Consulting and/or presales experience
  • Working knowledge of cloud services management, reporting, and optimisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and customer focus
  • Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and process automation
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools (e.g., M365 Copilot) is an advantage
