We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our small animal practice. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, enjoys working closely with veterinarians and clients, and is committed to providing high-quality patient care. Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) status is preferred but not required for this role.
Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, and laboratory testing
Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical preparation and recovery
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs
Safely restrain and handle small animal patients
Educate clients on medications, preventative care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
Maintain accurate medical records using practice management software
Clean, disinfect, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
Support clinic workflow and collaborate effectively with the veterinary team
3–5 years of experience in a small animal veterinary practice
LVT certification preferred but not required (must be eligible per state regulations, if applicable)
Solid understanding of small animal anatomy, common diseases, and treatment protocols
Proficiency in laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging
Experience with anesthesia monitoring strongly preferred
Strong animal handling and patient care skills
Excellent communication and client education abilities
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Compassionate bedside manner with both pets and pet owners
Ability to lift and restrain animals up to [X] lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working around animals, medical equipment, and cleaning agents
