
Licensed Veterinary Technician - Equine Experience, Overnight positionBlue Ridge Equine - Earlysville, VirginiaMust have equine experience!!!Blue Ridge Equine is looking for an Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician with equine experience to join our fun and friendly team. Blue Ridge Equine strives to help our team members find a balance between life and work. The experienced licensed technician would have at least one year of experience in the veterinary industry, experience working with horses, have confidence working independently, and be self-motivated. They would be compassionate towards our patients, clients, and staff. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. They would be a positive team player looking to support our already amazing team and willing to continue their education.The ideal candidate needs to feel confident with proper equine handling and would be responsible for caring for and monitoring patients admitted to the hospital. They would be responsible for prepping and assisting in an emergency work up, handling horses for treatments and procedures, assisting in diagnostic procedures (ultrasound, radiograph, endoscopy). They should have comfort in placing IV catheters, assisting in surgery, drawing blood and running bloodwork, and experience with various laboratory equipment. Experience in equine anesthesia is a plus but not required for this position, as future learning opportunities are available.If you are a hard worker, able to multi-task, can work independently, have a love for working with horses, and are ready to advance your career and skills, then Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is looking forward to hearing from you.
