Job Description

As a Licensed Social Worker at River Rock Academy, you’ll help students develop new skills and reach their goals by building strong relationships and providing support through life’s challenges. You’ll collaborate with families, school districts, and a multidisciplinary team to create positive, lasting change for every student.

What You’ll Need

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related field and current Pennsylvania certification or licensure as a School Counselor, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, LSW, LCSW, LPC, NCC, Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or equivalent credential

  • Three to five years of experience supporting youth in educational, behavioral health, mental health, or human services settings

  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations, student support services, behavioral interventions, and mental health systems

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, districts, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, including the ability to identify student triggers, implement de-escalation strategies, and foster positive student relationships

What You’ll Do

  • Guide students through intake, orientation, and goal setting as they begin at River Rock Academy

  • Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management for assigned students

  • Document all sessions, communications, and interventions using the school’s systems and complete required progress reports

  • Lead and participate in review meetings, prepare and send communications for student attendance, progress, and discharge planning

  • Work closely with families, community agencies, and school partners to coordinate supports and help students transition successfully
