The Security Officer may be assigned to different posts for this position and therefore will be trained for both truck gate security as well as employee screening and security.
The Security Officer is responsible for checking in and screening visitors and employees upon entry to the facility. This includes but is not limited to monitoring CCTV, checking ID’s, issuing visitor badges, performing bag searches, monitoring walk through metal detectors and using handheld metal detectors to resolve alarms.
Additionally, the Security Officer is responsible for access control and logging of all truck and trailer traffic into and out of the facility yard. Officers are responsible for documenting the arrival and departure of trucks and trailers on paper logs as well as entering truck and trailer information into clients computer based yard management software. Officers will need to verify accuracy of documents and loads of trucks and trailers upon their exit from the facility yard.
Special Considerations:
Officers must be willing able to work in challenging weather conditions to include heat, cold, wind and rain. Officers will be exposed to these weather elements as they are physically inspecting trucks and trailers. Standing for extended periods of time will be required at certain points.
