
LPN) Position Summary
Essential Functions
*Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
*Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
*Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
*Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
*Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
*Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
*Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
*Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
*Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or Licensed Practical Nurse ( abilities required.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
Experience Minimum one year of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
License: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
Certifications CPR/BLS certification required; IV Certification highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
