Jefferson Regional and Kindred Rehabilitation Services Unit is a 40-bed acute Inpatient Rehabilitation where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Our team provides compassionate inpatient rehabilitation care to patients recovering from acute injuries, illnesses, or impairments, including stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, neurological disorders, amputation, and trauma. highest level of independence while supporting one another in delivering exceptional care every day.

How you'll contribute

A Rehab LPN who excels in this role:

  • Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
  • Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
  • Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
  • Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
  • Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
  • Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
  • Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
  • Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state or compact state LPN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Licenses: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
  • Education: Associate's degree required. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
