Position Title

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Behavioral Health - NightsStrawberry Hill Campus

Career Interest:

The Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides relevant nursing and support services for clients in a psychiatric setting. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Improve patient outcomes and deliver quality care within practice areas assigned.
  • Ensure all clinical care is delivered in a manner that meets or exceeds goals and expectations for clinical outcomes, quality assurance standards and patient satisfaction.
  • Collect routine data for initial, shift, and ongoing assessment of each patient as delegated by the RN per unit standards.
  • Effectively utilize appropriate behavior management techniques for the behavioral health patient population.
  • Perform focused assessments as directed by a RN.
  • Perform medication administration within the LPN scope licensure.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and recommends ideas for change/improvement within the health system framework.
  • Implement the plan of care in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner.
  • Utilize division/unit standards when providing care as delegated by a RN.
  • Utilize unit and department protocols/standard.
  • Perform other duties within the LPN scope as assigned by the RN or unit leadership.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • 1 or more years experience.


Required Licensure and Certification

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing


Knowledge Requirements

  • Proficient in computer typing.
  • Basic computer software program skills.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
