PurposeThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)-Chargewill align his/her scope of work with Jawonio’s Mission, while incorporating Jawonio’s Core Values as the guiding principle for all work activities.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)-Charge is responsible for monitoring the health of individuals/participants in the residencies. He/she will perform routine nursing care activities that support quality of care in accordance with the nursing care plan. Provides mentoring and additional support to the Direct Service Professionals as it relates to the health, safety and wellbeing of participants residing at the Residence

Education/
Experience: Associate degree in Practical Nursing plus 2 years of experience in a similar setting. Must hold valid licensure from New York State as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to individuals and employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general medical periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, consumers, and families.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
