Job Description

Job Title: LICENSED NAIL TECHNICIAN

Department: Spa

Rate of Pay: Commission plus Gratuities (Starting commission 30%, Opportunity to increase to 40%)

Shift: Part Time year round; Sunday 9am-3pm and/or 3pm-7pm, Monday-Saturday 9am-3pm and/or 3pm-8pm,

Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and Holidays

Treatment Providers must report to work 30 minutes prior to first appointment.

On Call: Be sure to confirm your schedule before the start of your shift. When you are on the schedule but have no appointments you are classified as actively on call. When an appointment is booked, you will be notified by the Spa. Your response time to arrive at the Spa should be one hour or less.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Support and promote the image, service and standards of Sundance and the spa. Perform organic nail care services in a clean, sanitary, peaceful and relaxing environment. Promote natural nail care for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit consistent attendance and performance of job duties.
  • Maintain proper start/stop times for treatments, per protocols.
  • Guide/assist the guests through their spa experience.
  • Set the ambiance for relaxation.
  • Perform all nail care and treatment therapies for manicures and pedicures as prescribed by the spa protocols.
  • Expertly apply nail lacquer or gel polish as desired by the guest.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and comfort during their treatment(s).
  • Fulfill any reasonable requests of the guests and management.
  • Be a resource to guests on nail care, body therapy and products.
  • Display extensive knowledge on nail care.
  • Understand all professional nail and body care products and their proper usage in manicures and pedicures.
  • Promote body/skin/nail care products to all guests.
  • Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.
  • Clean and sanitize all reusable tools and implements per heath code standards after every treatment.
  • Communicate with management and other team members regarding guest or service concerns.
  • Restock and refill products and supplies in the treatment rooms.
  • Maintain and clean treatment facility.
  • Support the recycling program.
  • Assist other team members in keeping the dispensary clean and organized.
  • Attend all educational events and meetings sponsored by the spa and Sundance.
  • Be a team player, promoting the spa and other Sundance properties.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed Graduate from accredited cosmetology school and at least 2 years of experience (preferred experience in a spa environment). Must have a combination of nail care and retail experience. Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Graduate from an Accredited School of Cosmetology for nail technician. Licensed by the state of Utah.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
