Licensed Journeyman / Master Electrician – Commercial & Industrial Service (Travel)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $30.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience and license level
Travel Per Diem: $125 per day for eligible travel assignments
Overtime: Significant overtime opportunities based on client and project needs
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician for commercial and industrial service work. This role is ideal for a safety-focused, career-minded electrician with strong troubleshooting abilities, leadership experience, and the flexibility to work day, night, weekend, overtime, and travel assignments as client needs require.
Assignments may be local or require regional travel for 1–3 weeks at a time Schedule availability is approximately split between day shift and overnight/third-shift work.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial and industrial electrical systems and components.
- Diagnose electrical issues involving wiring, lighting, panels, fuse boxes, generators, and other electrical equipment.
- Install new wiring, electrical components, and system upgrades for outdated or damaged electrical systems.
- Test newly installed systems and components to ensure proper, safe operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and scopes of work (SOW).
- Complete required field deliverables, including project photos, signed checklists, as-built documentation, and daily reporting.
- Ensure all work meets applicable local, county, state, federal, customer, insurance, OSHA, PPE, and current NEC requirements.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and support field staff as needed.
- Manage multiple priorities, meet project deadlines, and maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, appearance, customer service, and jobsite safety.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Active state-level Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license is required.
- Applicants from states without an electrical licensing requirement must identify their electrical level or credential and be open to applicable testing.
- Commercial and/or industrial electrician experience required.
- Prior Lead Electrician or Foreman experience preferred.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of current NEC requirements, electrical codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and scopes of work.
- Boom lift and/or scissor lift certification; ability to work safely at heights.
- Basic hand tools and required PPE.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and mentor field staff.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage project documentation.
- Comfortable using email, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time daily.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI within the last three years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening, drug screening, background screening, and any required client-specific testing.
