HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The LCB Product Lead will provide import compliance expertise to help drive AI agent expansion to support brokerage and import compliance solutions ensuring alignment with the ever-changing customs and regulatory environment.

The position is with a startup company based in the San Francisco Bay area.

On-site work arrangement is preferred. However, hybrid/remote will be considered for strong candidates.

EXPECTATIONS

• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to translate customs processes into product lines
• Apply a technical translation and decision framework to complex practices like HTS Classification, Free Trade Agreement determination, Country of Origin, AD/CVD, etc.
• Drive development of trade remedy logic within AI agent (Chapter 99, Section 301/232/201)
• Define post entry audit and post summary correction workflows
• Translate CBP CSMS/regulatory updates into product specifications and test cases to deliver results
• Create and maintain documentation on processes and procedures, training others as needed
• Establish and maintain industry relationships to support best in class agent practices
• Stay up to date on import/export regulations, industry trends to incorporate into agent processing

ESSENTIALS

• Licensed Customs Broker required
• 7-10+ years’ experience with Customs Brokerage and import compliance
• In depth knowledge of end-to-end import entry process with CBP & PGA across multiple industries
• Expert level knowledge of HTS, COO, FTA, and AD/CVD
• Strong understanding of Chapter 99 Exclusions and Free Trade Agreements
• Experience Customs/brokerage import systems, including ABI, ACE, Cargowise, etc.
• Detailed oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self starter with proactive, detail driven approach to tasks, while maintaining focus on accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Self-starter with proactive, detail driven approach who is comfortable with ambiguity
