The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) delivers mental and behavioral health services to patients under an Integrated Behavioral Health program. The duties will include mental health/substance abuse assessment, integrated health care screenings, brief solution-focused therapy, referral, and support services. Services will be provided to clients, families and others from diverse backgrounds.

Bilingual candidates (English plus Russian, Ukrainian, Farsi, or Dari) are highly preferred, and while entry-level applicants are welcome, those with prior experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from a university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, and possession of a current Clinical Social Worker license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Familiarity with integrated behavioral health models within a community healthcare system; experience practicing in such a setting preferred.
  • Experience in short-term, evidence-based, solution-focused counseling; creation of treatment plans; psychosocial assessment; individual therapy; group therapy; cognitive-behavioral therapy; motivational interviewing; trauma-informed care; and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric, psychosocial, ethical, legal and privacy issues; substance misuse/abuse and chemical dependency assessment and treatment; understanding of current insurance benefits and restrictions in the area of mental health; knowledgeable of DSM-V; and treatment issues concerning adolescents and minors.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human behavior and communication, psychotherapy, case management, and the influence of cultural and spiritual values in counseling practice

    Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

The work environment is characteristic of the healthcare facility environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately loud; the incumbent must be able to focus in an environment with many distractions.
