Job Description

Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to deliver quality nursing care to medically complex pediatric children. Under the supervision of our Director of Nursing (D.O.N.), you'll help meet the medical, developmental, and social needs of our patients in a facility-based setting.

Duties:

  • Administer nursing procedures such as g-tube feeding, oxygen therapy, and range of motion exercises according to patient care plans
  • Administer prescribed medications orally, intra- or subcutaneously, and monitor for any adverse reactions
  • Record and maintain accurate daily treatment notes, nursing notes, and medication logs
  • Monitor patient activities and assist with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, diapering, and dressing
  • Record and monitor vital signs, reporting any changes to the RN supervisor
  • Assist with mobility, including repositioning, ambulating, and wheelchair transfers
  • Support rehabilitation activities focused on developing social and daily living skills
  • Assist patients during meals and provide feeding support as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including changing beds and spot cleaning as needed
  • Accompany children during non-emergency and emergency transportation as directed
  • Transcribe and report physician orders accurately and efficiently
  • Participate in emergency response and required in-service training

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school for practical/vocational nursing
  • Licensure: Current Texas LVN License
  • Experience: 2+ years in pediatric nursing (preferred)
  • Certification: BLS certification required (LPN preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and position patients up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to assist with mobility, use of restraints, and manage physical demands as needed
