Anne Arundel County Government is currently hiring for a full-time permanent, safety- sensitive License Inspector position in the Office of Inspections and Permits.
Employees in this class are responsible for inspecting, issuing, and enforcing compliance with local laws, codes, and regulations governing County license requirements.
Work involves inspecting and licensing mobile home parks, multiple dwellings, dealers, and installations, licensing taxicab owners, drivers, and taxicabs, inspection and licensing of arcades, and conducting random inspections. There is considerable contact with contractors, owners, and the public on the interpretation of laws and regulations, and the investigation of complaints. Work is performed under general supervision, within established codes, regulations, and technical guidelines, and is reviewed by the supervisor through conferences and reports.
Employees in this class are exposed to a variety of weather conditions and on occasion may be exposed to antagonistic persons. The work sites to be inspected may be dirty, noisy, and dusty.

Education: Graduation from high school.
Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in the field of governmental licensing or regulatory authority; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
NOTE: This position is Safety Sensitive and employees in this position are subject to Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and Alcohol Testing.
