Our client is a well-established freight forwarder operating in the New York/New Jersey metro area with a strong footprint in US import operations. They are seeking an experienced, licensed US Customs Broker to join their Secaucus, NJ team immediately. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity with a stable organization that values expertise and tenure.
Requirements
What You'll Do
Manage the end-to-end US customs clearance process for air and ocean import shipments
Prepare and review entry filings, classifications, and documentation for accuracy and compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, CBP, and freight partners on customs matters
Ensure full compliance with US Customs & Border Protection regulations and trade compliance requirements
Leverage Descartes (or similar systems) to process and track clearances
Identify and resolve customs holds, delays, and compliance issues with speed and precision
Support continuous improvement of internal customs processes and documentation standards
What We're Looking For
Active US Customs Broker License — held for a minimum of 5 years
10+ years of experience in US imports, with hands-on Air & Ocean freight
Descartes system experience strongly preferred
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Strong working knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, and admissibility
Ability to work independently and manage multiple entries simultaneously under deadline
Benefits
Base Salary: $115,000
Health Reimbursement: $450/month
Vacation: 2 weeks PTO
Sick Leave: 5 days
Personal Days: 2 days
