Library Paraprofessional-Outreach-Youth

• Interacts with library patrons to assist them in selecting materials or meeting informational needs.

• Explains the use of reference sources such as bibliographic indexes or computer assisted reference tools.

• Searches catalog, databases and print sources to answer patron inquiries.

• Assists with collection development and maintenance.

• Plans and conducts tours and programs.

• Assembles and arranges displays and bibliographies of books and other library material.

• Assists and/or instructs other employees with their duties.

• Performs database maintenance.

• Develop, perform and/or manage youth services programming.

• Plan and perform school visits and other outreach activities.

• Catalogs and classifies library materials such as books, audiovisual materials, etc.

• Provides bibliographic control using MARC Records.
• Creates records, changes holding, using and automated system.

• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• One year job related experience
• Requires evening and weekend work.
• Computer skills; good verbal and written communication, organizational skills; Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials; Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

SALARY: Min-$18.31-Max-$27.47/Hourly
