About The Team

The Library plays a central role in supporting the University’s academic community by providing high quality information resources and services that enhance learning, teaching and research. It offers a welcoming and professional environment, alongside tailored collections, training and expert support to help users find and use information effectively.

The Resources & Collections team is responsible for the acquisition, access, metadata, and overall management of the University’s physical and digital collections, including special collections.

Your New Role!

As a Librarian (Collection Management), you will be part of the Metadata and Collections team, working under broad direction to support the development and ongoing management of the library’s collections. In collaboration with library colleagues and academic staff, you will contribute to building high-quality, relevant collections that support teaching, learning and research.

This includes selecting resources for acquisition, reviewing and maintaining existing collections, updating collection documentation and contributing expert advice to the development of approval plans and evidence-based acquisition strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the library’s collections through the selection of high-quality information resources across a range of formats

  • Support the design and implementation of deselection and relocation programs to ensure collections remain relevant and accessible

  • Develop and implement effective acquisition strategies, including approval plans and evidence-based or demand-driven acquisition models

This Continuous| Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $80K – $98K (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A completed degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

  • Eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse teams

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
