Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-level Liaison Engineers to join the C-17 Engineering Team located in San Antonio, TX
We are looking for proactive individuals who want to go beyond their desk and deep dive hard broke aircraft to understand issues and drive repair resolution. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to partner closely with production personnel.
This role is specific to a new Emergent Repair team the C-17 Field Engineering organization is standing up to perform hands on engineering in support of non-standard and heavy structural repairs across multiple aircraft repair disciplines.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide on-site engineering support at the aircraft maintenance location. This includes, but not limited to the development of technical solutions, development of engineering data, and acting as a principle point of contact for internal and external customers.
Provide steadfast technical support around diagnosing and resolving issues encountered in the aircraft maintenance operations, on-time with high quality.
Review defect and damage conditions; establish root cause and provide acceptable disposition instructions that are innovative, thorough and practical.
Participate in status meetings and technical reviews, support monthly metrics development and submittals.
Drive efficiency in the aircraft maintenance operations by steadfast collaboration with design, manufacturing, and stress counterparts. Support trade studies, design improvements, and optimization efforts.
Ensure customer compliance with Boeing standards.
Document and organize ongoing and/or completed repairs with supporting engineering data for customer review.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
1+ years of experience in an engineering role
1+ years of experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience. (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
1+ years of Delegation of Engineering Authority / Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (DEA MRB / LE) Authority experience, including participating in Material Review Board
Universal Product Review certification
1+ years of experience with applying knowledge of design principles to assess and resolve product issues through the product lifecycle
1+ years of experience with developing dispositions for aircraft non-conformances
1+ years of experience with military or commercial derivative aircraft: design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, delivery and fleet support
1+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment and/or business unit teams
1+ years of customer interface experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay Range Associate Level (Level 2): $85,000-$115,000
Pay Range Mid-level (Level 3): $103,700 - $140,300
