Job Highlights

Keep Washington Safe and Working as our office Assistant 3 in the Employment Standards unit!

In this role, you’ll directly support our mission by acting as a liaison between internal/external customers and the program/agency, as well as explaining Employment Standards policies, procedures, laws, and processes to customers.

Examples of duties

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Assist Administrative Assistant 3 with organizing meetings, including scheduling and notification to meeting participants, reserving meeting and/or event space.
  • Maintain established section electronic and manual filing systems.
  • Orders, receives, and maintains inventory
  • Act as backup to Administrative Assistant to receive warrants from Fiscal Office
  • Log warrants into spreadsheet and sign out warrants to Industrial Relations Agent 3s in the Proactive Investigation & Enforcement Unit and the Determinations & Fiscal Unit.
  • Date stamp & process incoming mail.
  • Scan all returned mail
  • Upload and distribute returned mail into applicable complaint files or to unit within the Employment Standards Program
  • And much more!

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience providing clerical or customer service support

AND

  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

Desired:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Power Point, Teams)
  • Able to multi-task in a professional- fast paced, high call volume work environment.
  • Previous experience working with statutes and regulations and explaining them in a way customers can understand is a plus.

For this position, telework is not permitted during training. After training, telework is dependent on business needs and supervisor approval. The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater, Washington.

For positions where in-office work is necessary, the frequency of telework will be discussed with the supervisor of the position at the time of offer.
