About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
As the Levy & Product Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading levy and product strategy, preparing levy change proposals, collaborating across ACC, and delivering improvements to the levy system.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of the Levy Strategy and related work programmes.
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering annual and cyclical levy processes, reviews, consultations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Leading the strategic development of levies and products, ensuring alignment with ACC’s vision and strategy and legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating across ACC to ensure the work programme, levies, and products align with strategy and deliver measurable value.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and performance of our current levy products, implementing improvements in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Providing high quality evidence-based advice on issues and opportunities within the levy system.

The appointing salary for this role is between $110,000 and $125,000 based on experience and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance, and flexibility to change to a locked plan at any time.

This is a permanent role, based in Wellington.

You will excel in a dynamic environment that requires active engagement across diverse projects and responsibilities, all within a supportive team setting. You may already have experience in product management or be ready to apply your business acumen in a strategic context.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience delivering product or project outcomes by working collaboratively across teams and supporting people through change in ways that enable new ways of working.
  • A sharp analytical mind and a knack for solving complex problems, balancing detail and big-picture thinking to deliver practical, data-informed solutions.
  • Experience developing clear, concise written advice and documentation for senior leaders or governance groups, with confidence in tailoring communication for different audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with initiative and adaptability, balancing day-to-day tasks with larger strategic work.
  • Experience contributing to the development or implementation of business strategies, connecting operational delivery to long-term goals and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • A working knowledge of ACC’s regulatory and legislative context, and an understanding of how decisions are made within the public sector.
  • Sound understanding and demonstrated ability to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi to the design of policies, systems, and processes.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
