We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Advanced Technical Support Engineer to join our ICT team. In this senior role, you’ll take ownership of complex technical issues, support critical infrastructure, and play a key part in strengthening our systems, security, and service delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Own escalated Level 3 incidents across servers, networks, cloud, apps, and end‑user environments.
  • Support and optimise Microsoft 365, Azure, AD, Windows Server, virtualisation, and networking.
  • Maintain and improve systems, assist with upgrades and migrations, and proactively prevent issues.
  • Work with vendors to resolve advanced faults and manage SLAs.
  • Create clear technical documentation and contribute to our knowledge base.
  • Mentor Level 1–2 staff and uplift team capability.
  • Support security practices, incident response, and system hardening.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and uphold organisational values.

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • 3–5+ years in senior ICT support or system admin.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft 365, Azure, AD, Windows Server, networking, and virtualisation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Experience using ticketing systems and working to SLAs.

Desirable

  • MSP or enterprise background.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, ITIL, VMware, networking).
  • Cyber security exposure and experience with tools like ThreatLocker, Zscaler, Vulscan, or SentinelOne.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
