Job Description

Level 3 Nursery Practitioner in Staines-upon-Thames - Growing Nursery Group

£28-30.5k (experience and qualifications dependent)

Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, TW18, close to the Two Rivers shopping centre

Working pattern: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the nursery open from 7.30am to 6pm. Part-time opportunities are also available

Our client is a growing nursery group with a stunning 120-place nursery in the heart of Staines-upon-Thames, opened in 2025 and already building a brilliant reputation with local families. Thanks to that growth, they’re looking for Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioners to join the team, working across the nursery with children from 3 months to 5 years.

What makes this setting different is the trust they put in their people. The EYFS and high standards of safety are the foundation, but how practitioners play, nurture and connect with the children is genuinely theirs to shape. It’s a beautifully converted building with excellent transport links by road and public transport, led by empathetic owners who take staff happiness and retention seriously, and there’s real room to grow as the nursery does.

On offer is a salary of £28-30.5k, a warm, supportive team culture where practitioners are trusted to lead with heart, and realistic progression within a group with a strong track record of developing its people.

Key responsibilities:

  • Play and learning: Lead joyful, activity-filled sessions guided by the EYFS, following the children’s interests.
  • Key person role: Take ownership of observations, assessments and planning for your key children, making sure every child’s individual needs are met.
  • Parent partnerships: Keep parents warmly in the loop with observations and next steps, including supporting families with any SEND needs.
  • Mealtimes: Make mealtimes a happy, sociable part of the children’s day.
  • Teamwork: Bring kindness and a team-first attitude to everything, supporting colleagues across the nursery.
  • Safeguarding: Keep children’s safety and wellbeing at the centre of every day.

About you:

  • Qualified: A full and relevant Level 3 (or above) early years qualification, along with English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experienced: Experience caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years, with a genuine passion for child development.
  • EYFS knowledge: A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and how to bring it to life through play.
  • Safeguarding: Detailed knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Warm communicator: Strong communication skills and a natural, caring way with children, parents and colleagues.

What’s in it for you:

  • A competitive salary of £28-30.5k, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Access to your pay as you earn it.
  • Company pension.
  • Learning and development opportunities supporting both personal and professional growth.
  • Generous childcare discount.
  • Retail discounts.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Free access to a 24/7 online GP for you and your family.
  • A surprise on your birthday.
  • An extra day of annual leave for every work anniversary, up to five extra days.
