Job Title: Level 2 – Maintenance Semi-Skilled Worker
Under direct supervision, perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems which do not require extensive specialization in one particular trade. Duties may increase in scope as the employee becomes more skilled, but the primary emphasis is the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.
Responsibilities
Assist with the inspection, cleaning and basic maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established schedules.
Assist with the installation and alignment of machinery and equipment.
Support skilled technicians in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues.
Assist in mechanical rebuilds of the machinery and components.
Replace or repair defective parts, such as bearings, gears, belts and motors.
Utilize hand and power tools to perform tasks under the guidance of experienced maintenance personnel.
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Close work orders using the maintenance tracking system.
Other duties as assigned
Academic/Educational Requirements
High school diplomaor equivalent expertise gained through professional experience, training, or certifications.
Trade knowledge is considered an asset.
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum one year experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.
Fully capable of Level 1 – Maintenance Laborer responsibilities.
Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to understand their operation and identify malfunctions.
Maintain systems to track, report, document, and assist with scheduled preventative maintenance.
Record coolant refractometer readings, top up machine oils and record usage.
Manage oil and coolant inventory.
Maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.
Operate a forklift.
Cover all MMC L1 responsibilities.
Responding to breakdown calls.
Adhere to all H&S and environmental laws and procedures
