Responsibilities
Minimum salary for this position is $6,375. The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for a part-time faculty position at the Lecturer I level for the period of August 24 through December 19, 2026. The position requires teaching a 3-credit-hour (25% effort) undergraduate course, THE 215- Stagecraft. The course is scheduled to meet face to face on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the university scene shop. The budget for this position is for the Fall 2026 term only.
Course Description
Introduction to the basics of theatrical production including theory and mechanics of scenery construction.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess a master's degree in theatre. Candidates without a degree may be considered if they have a minimum of two years of professional experience in theatre technology or stagecraft and 1-2 years of relevant instructional or mentorship experience.
Desired Qualifications
Evidence of relevant teaching experience is desired.
Graduate work preferred and must have been completed within an accredited program.

Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
