
Minimum salary for this position is $1,020 per student (4% effort per student). The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for a part-time faculty position at the Lecturer I level for the period of August 24 through December 12, 2026. The position requires teaching weekly lessons; participating as a member of the jury committee for student juries each semester; maintaining and developing the applied music studio as assigned. Other responsibilities include participation in faculty recitals and/or Department of Music concerts. Based on candidate expertise and student enrollment, this position also carries the potential to teach additional courses as opportunities arise.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in performance, minimum. Demonstrated successful teaching experience in applied trumpet. Record of active and continuing performance on principal instrument.
Desired Qualifications
An excellent record of work in the performing arts. Doctorate preferred.

Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
