The Opportunity

This is not a “manage from the sidelines” leadership role. As a Lending Team Leader, you'll be leading a squad of lending specialists while remaining close to the work, the decisions, and the customer outcomes that drive the business forward.

You’ll coach, develop and elevate the lending team to perform at a high standard while helping optimise processes, improve customer experiences, and strengthen operational performance across the lending journey.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership across Credit, Growth and Technology, contributing operational insights that directly influence how we scale. What You’ll Be Responsible For

Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team

• Lead, coach and motivate a squad of Credit Assessors to consistently achieve performance and service KPIs
• Support onboarding, training and ongoing capability development
• Identify performance gaps and provide practical coaching and feedback
• Foster a culture of accountability, learning velocity and continuous improvement
• Set the tone through professionalism, resilience and high standards

Drive Operational Excellence

• Review and assess loan applications when required
• Resolve escalations and support the team with complex applications and exceptions
• Monitor workflows, service levels and operational efficiency
• Complete reporting and performance tracking
• Work cross-functionally to improve systems, processes and customer outcomes

Contribute Strategically

• Participate in leadership stand-ups, workshops and operational strategy sessions
• Collaborate with Growth and Technology teams to improve systems and customer journeys
• Use data, reporting and operational insights to drive smarter decision-making

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial judgement with people leadership capability.

You’ll likely bring:

• 3+ years’ experience in assessment/lending, ideally in a leadership or a senior role
• Strong understanding of consumer lending and responsible lending principles
• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring assessment teams
• High emotional intelligence and resilience under pressure
• Strong communication skills and confidence in handling escalations
• A naturally proactive, ownership-driven mindset
• A desire to improve systems, processes and people — not just maintain them
