EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period
CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The start time for this position is currently 8:30 a.m.
Flexible schedule as needed to provide support for legislative functions, such as Full Board, Commission, and work groups meetings and office events is required.
Under direction, provides assistance with the workflows involved in the legislative process, including scheduling meetings for the Board of Commissioners and committees, agenda planning, pre-meeting item submission and document creation. Responsible for the coordination of live and post-meeting duties ensuring that accurate accounts of meetings are maintained for historical record and public availability.
Supports legislative operations through administrative duties.
Schedules meetings of the Board of Commissioners and its committees.
Oversees the workflows of the submissions in the automated Agenda Management System (AMS) and routes agenda item requests, contracts, reports and other documents through the appropriate channels.
Utilizes AMS to create meeting and public hearing notices, preliminary and final agendas, proceedings minutes and other committee meeting outcomes.
Works with County departments to verify accuracy and completeness of and to obtain required information for agenda item requests.
Provides meeting guidance, as it relates to agendas and minutes, for boards, commissions, and committees appointed by the Board of Commissioners.
Posts all notices, agendas, and minutes in the appropriate timelines and as required by law.
Attends Full Board and committee meetings, work groups, hearings and other gatherings and records pertinent details of discussion and Board action so that highly accurate accounts of proceedings are maintained for permanent record.
Publishes Public Notices, Resolutions and Ordinances and other notices as required by law, obtains signatures for formalization and delivers finalized materials to appropriate departments and individuals.
Adjusts schedule as needed to provide support for legislative functions, such as Full Board, Commission, and work groups meetings and office events.
Operates an automobile while performing assigned job duties.
Performs related duties as assigned.
