Minimum qualifications

• Master's degree in a Law field from a Belgian University, with a specialization (LLM) in law and new technologies, commercial law, copyright law or privacy law.
• Experience working in a law firm or legal department of a company.
• Experience in data protection, copyright, consumer law, technology, or media law.
• Ability to communicate in English, Dutch and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with legal analysis and research.
• Experience in intellectual property, technology, or media law, with an interest in technology and IT-relevant legal problems and recent developments.
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a changing environment.
• Available to start 15 February 2027 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

The Belgium/Lux Legal team is a multi-lingual expert team that manages all things legal in Belgium and Luxembourg: the law, institutions, courts, partners, Key Opinion Formers, academics, authorities, and regulators. Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising law, data protection, etc.).
• Respond to various legal requests from users and third parties in relation to Google services.
• Assist the Legal team in the preparation and management of court actions.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team. Participate in the review and drafting of agreements.
• Use internal AI tools for all of the above.
