This position serves in a student capacity and assists the Enforcement Division's Reconsideration Unit in analyzing various civil rights laws, including but not limited to state and federal acts, reviews investigative dismissal determinations and refusals to issue a certified complaint of discrimination to ensure compliance with the Michigan Administrative Code, drafts appeal memorandums, reviews and provides legal analysis of investigative reports, and other duties as assigned.
The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution. Specific information on the education and experience required is in the job specifications for the Student Assistant class.
Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month and must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
