Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in legal work within a law firm, government, or in-house legal department.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Qualified company secretary or paralegal with experience supporting a variety of corporate law or M&A matters.
  • Ability to systematically organize and understand numerous complex legal documents.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple projects that are time sensitive.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, positive attitude and a self-starting problem solver who thrives in ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin Chinese fluently to engage with Chinese or English speaking stakeholders.

Google's legal department is at the center of an information law revolution, and you're at its core. As a Legal Assistant, you are a driving team behind the success of your Legal team, ready to create and improve processes, maintain records, conduct legal research and coordinate communications across the team. As you closely support your team, you may find yourself working with multiple groups within the Legal Department, internal clients across Google, and external parties. You're an independent thinker who isn't afraid to ask questions, and you're organized in a way that never overlooks the details.

As a Legal Specialist, you’ll join a close-knit and high performing team which is responsible for the corporate secretarial, corporate compliance and governance matters of Google subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region. You will provide support on various legal and administrative matters, including incorporations, liquidations, integrations, statutory compliances and process improvements. Your focus is managing legal matters effectively and efficiently, and coordinating information requests within Google. You will have excellent organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to multi-task on tight deadlines to support all administrative aspects of your work.

This role will be based in Singapore.

This role will be based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate expansions, liquidations, integrations and coordination of corporate compliance, governance and maintenance for Alphabet subsidiaries in the APAC region.
  • Plan and coordinate key meetings in accordance with local statutory and regulatory requirements, including attending meetings, preparing documents, taking minutes, maintaining corporate records and internal databases and timely filings.
  • Design, recommend and implement new processes and procedures for efficiency and provide guidance to ensure conformity and consistency in the application of Alphabet’s policies/practices.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, prepare legal documents and lead training sessions.
  • Ensure corporate housekeeping, including tracking of documents, routing documents for signature and distribution, filing, data organization, and managing logistical matters such as corporate chopping, certification, and notarization.
