Legal Secretary - North Las Vegas, NV (Onsite)
Reports To: Litigation Counsel
An experienced Legal Secretary is needed to support a busy legal department with day-to-day administrative, clerical, and litigation-related tasks. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has strong organizational, communication, and document-management skills. The ideal candidate has prior experience supporting attorneys, preparing legal documents, managing case files, and coordinating scheduling and correspondence.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative & Clerical Support
- Provide daily administrative support to Litigation Counsel and legal team
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines
- Answer and route phone calls; handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
Legal Document Preparation
- Draft, edit, and format legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, and contracts
- Prepare and assemble exhibits, binders, and case packets
- Proofread documents for accuracy, grammar, and compliance
Case Management
- Maintain case files, track deadlines, and assist with litigation timelines
- Coordinate with internal departments, property managers, and outside counsel
- Assist with document collection, organization, and production
- Support attorney with trial preparation, hearing prep, and case updates
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, courts, and internal staff
- Assist with scheduling depositions, mediations, and meetings
- Prepare status reports and follow up on outstanding items
General Office Support
- Process invoices, expense reports, and legal department billing
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or similar role
- Experience in litigation, real estate law, or property management law preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with legal document formatting and court filing procedures
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- Professional, polished, and reliable demeanor
