The role:

Our specialist Employment team is passionate about Employment Law. One of the largest in New Zealand, we bring technical prowess coupled with an appreciation of the importance of relationships when dealing with employment issues. Our clients include leading New Zealand businesses, government departments, and international companies.

We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or an administrative professional with experience supporting a busy team to become an integral member of our Employment team in Auckland.

You will be working closely with the Partners and the fee-earning team, with a wide range of secretarial and administrative tasks. You will join a team with a great culture who enjoy working together.

This role will see you:

With previous experience in a similar administrative role under your belt, you'll be ready to take the next step in your career, adding real value to a busy but supportive team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A proactive approach to your work - the ability to work on tasks unprompted and anticipate needs
  • Impeccable time management, prioritising workflow to meet deadlines
  • Highly tuned administration skills and experience with monthly billing
  • High standards of professionalism, including communication, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong team mentality, skilled at fostering and building internal and external relationships
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and commercial sensitivity
  • Previous experience and confidently know your way around the Microsoft Office suite

What do we offer?

We will offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with our clients, where you will get plenty of client contact, hands-on guidance and valuable experience. We are a future-focussed firm and that ethos extends to our people too. At Dentons we can offer you top quality work matched with an outstanding firm culture. We offer competitive remuneration along with benefits that will make a positive difference to your work/life balance. We welcome applications for this position from candidates seeking flexible working arrangements.

  • We can work flexibly at all levels in our business
  • Additional leave over the Christmas/New Year period
  • We invest in our people - learning and development are key
