Legal Practice Assistant – Banking & Finance | Sydney

Dentons is seeking a passionate and collaborative Legal Administrative/Support professional to join our Banking & Finance practice on a full time, permanent basis in our Sydney office.

Our Banking & Finance team advises leading banks, funds and corporates on complex domestic and cross border transactions, delivering commercially focused solutions in a fast evolving regulatory environment. This role is ideal for a legal secretary or legal assistant looking to further develop their skills within a dynamic and supportive practice.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Calendar management, including scheduling meetings and travel coordination
• Drafting, formatting, editing and preparing legal correspondence and documents with a meticulous approach to accuracy and presentation
• InfoTrack searching and PPS registrations
• Preparation and management of PEXA workspaces
• Managing the full lifecycle of legal matters, including matter opening, conflict checks, high volume end of month billing, trust payments, write offs, file closing and archiving
• Providing day to day administrative support, including answering calls, managing mail, printing, scanning and document handling
• Liaising with clients, third parties and internal stakeholders with professionalism, confidence and warmth.

About you

You will thrive in this role if you bring:

• Experience in legal administration or secretarial support, or you are a law student with at least 2 years remaining and demonstrated legal support experience
• An interest in client and matter management
• Fast, accurate and detail oriented work habits, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
• Experience using Elite or similar finance software for billing, reporting and matter management
• Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce professional quality documentation
• A proactive, adaptable and team oriented approach.
