Their Las Vegas office is a full-service litigation hub, and they need a Legal Practice Assistant who can match the pace, precision, and professionalism of the attorneys they'll be supporting.

The Role
We are placing a Legal Practice Assistant with 5+ years of litigation experience in Las Vegas. This is a high-trust, high-responsibility role. You'll manage court deadlines with zero margin for error, handle federal and state court e-filings, draft and format legal documents, and coordinate depositions and hearings from start to finish across multiple attorneys.
What You'll Do
Litigation Calendar & Deadline Management
- Manage litigation calendars across multiple attorneys and matters — hearings, depositions, mediations, briefing schedules, response deadlines, and trial dates
- Calculate and manually calendar filing deadlines per federal, state, and local court rules
- Maintain docket and litigation timelines using rules-based calendaring software
- Proactively flag approaching deadlines and scheduling conflicts before attorneys have to ask
- Track all case management orders and procedural timelines across active litigation
Court Filing & E-Filing
- Prepare and execute electronic court filings in federal court via CM/ECF and PACER
- File documents in Nevada state courts and applicable e-filing portals
- Review all documents for compliance with court rules and individual judge standing orders before filing
- Manage eService monitoring and court portal notifications across active matters
Document Drafting, Formatting & Management
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and exhibits
- Prepare trial binders, deposition materials, exhibit packages, and witness binders
- Maintain tables of contents and tables of authorities — heavy document production experience required
- Organize and manage case files in document management systems (iManage or equivalent)
Deposition & Hearing Coordination
- Coordinate all deposition logistics — scheduling witnesses and court reporters, preparing exhibits and notice packages
- Schedule and coordinate mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and client meetings
- Prepare subpoenas and assist with service of process
- Assist attorneys in trial and hearing preparation
Administrative Support
- Answer and direct calls for assigned attorneys
- Prepare and submit attorney expense reimbursements
- Maintain organized client files and records management systems
- Provide backup support to other attorneys as needed
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 5+ years as a Legal Practice Assistant or Legal Secretary in a law firm
- Demonstrated litigation experience — court deadlines, filings, and case management are your daily reality
- Proficiency with CM/ECF and PACER for federal court e-filings
- Experience with Nevada state court or equivalent state court e-filing portals
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules and individual judge standing orders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with document management systems (iManage, NetDocs, or equivalent)
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple attorneys' workloads and competing deadlines without losing composure
- Self-motivated, professional, and capable of working independently
Preferred:
- Litigation Paralegal experience or certification
- Experience with rules-based docketing software (CompuLaw, Deadlines on Demand, ProLaw)
- Prior experience supporting multiple practice areas
- Prior Las Vegas or Nevada court experience
