Avid is looking for a Legal Operations Generalist to join our team!
This role will support the Legal and Legal Operations functions by managing and improving legal processes across contract lifecycle management, corporate governance, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and legal documentation. The role will assist with contract review and administration, corporate filings and governance documentation, intellectual property renewals and filings, and privacy and compliance initiatives. Working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, this position will maintain legal records, support legal technology and reporting, develop internal policies and standard operating procedures, and drive process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and business support.
This role will follow a Hybrid work model (at least twice a week onsite to our BGC Office) with a schedule of 9:00 PM – 06:00 AM.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Assist in managing and optimizing contract lifecycle workflows, including intake, tracking, review coordination, and repository maintenance.
- Legal Documentation and Governance: Support internal documentation efforts by maintaining policy libraries, legal templates, board and governance materials, and subsidiary management records.
- Cross-Functional Legal Support: Collaborate with Legal, Sales, Finance, HR, and IT teams to support cross-functional legal processes and ensure timely responses to internal client needs.
- Legal Operations Reporting: Prepare internal reports and dashboards reflecting legal operations metrics, matter status, and team priorities.
- Process Improvement and Workflow Optimization: Monitor legal and compliance-related workflows and identify opportunities for automation, process efficiency, and improved stakeholder coordination.
- Legal Technology Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and internal IT resources to support legal technology systems, including contract management platforms, entity management tools, and compliance systems.
- Privacy and Regulatory Compliance: Assist with privacy, compliance, and regulatory projects by tracking obligations, compiling supporting data, and maintaining audit-ready records.
- Records and Compliance Management: Maintain centralized records related to legal training, certifications, contract approvals, and compliance findings.
- Corporate Legal Initiatives: Support team-wide initiatives related to corporate transactions, policy rollouts, and process audits.
- Knowledge Management and Documentation: Draft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and training materials for legal tools and workflows.
WHAT YOU CAN DELIVER:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Public Administration, International Relations, or other related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in legal administration or a related role, with exposure to one or more of the following areas: contract management, legal operations, regulatory compliance, labor and employment law, or corporate legal support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) graduate
- Prior experience in Legal Operations within an IT or technology-driven organization.
- Prior exposure to intellectual property administration, including trademark and patent maintenance, renewals, or filings.
Aside from the qualifications above, the ideal candidate shall also possess the following behavioral skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate legal documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with legal technology platforms, contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, or document management tools is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
