About Ekco
🚀 Founded in 2016, Ekco has quickly become one of Europe’s fastest-growing cloud solution providers and your trusted security-first Managed Service Provider.
IT leaders choose Ekco to drive operational efficiency, scale smarter and stay ahead of risk – powered by local expertise, delivered at European scale.
We specialise in helping organisations advance their cloud maturity guiding transformation, strengthening security, and maximising the value of their technology investments.
☁️ In simple terms: we help organisations modernise with confidence securing their systems, optimising their cloud, and keeping them resilient in a rapidly changing world.
🌍 Today, we’re a thriving team of 1,000+ talented and supportive colleagues across the UK, Ireland, Benelux, South Africa, and Malaysia—and we’re continuing to grow.
At Ekco, how we work matters as much as what we deliver. Our people live by four core values that shape everything we do:
On It We take ownership, follow through, and get things done.
All In : We collaborate, support each other, and commit fully to shared goals.
Connected We build trusted relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.
Hungry to Grow We stay curious, keep learning, and push ourselves to the next level.
🏠If these values resonate with you, you’ll feel right at home here.
The Role/Responsibilities
You will start with one clear, high-impact project: building Ekco’s single source of truth for customer contracts. We have grown quickly, organically and by acquisition, and we want a single, structured view of what the group has committed to. You will help design the contract data model, bring the portfolio into a repository, and use AI-assisted review to surface the commitments that matter most, such as renewal and notice dates, liability caps, security and audit obligations, and the data sovereignty terms that govern where customer data may be processed. The outcome is a reliable, filterable view of our contracting position that Legal, Sales and Service Delivery can all use.
From there the work broadens: building out our records of processing activities and data mapping, designing AI-enabled legal workflows, and making contract execution faster and cleaner. In time, the role opens into a genuinely generalist in-house remit covering customer and supplier contracting, employment matters, international expansion, M&A support, disputes and company secretarial work.
What you'll bring:
An LLB or equivalent law degree.
Roughly two to six years of relevant experience, gained in private practice, in-house legal, legal operations, contract management, or a compliance or privacy function. Time as a candidate attorney counts.
Hands-on experience with commercial contracts, whether drafting, negotiating, reviewing or abstracting them.
Real technical confidence. You are comfortable with data and spreadsheets, you pick up new platforms without being walked through them, and you look for the repeatable solution rather than doing the same task twice.
Practical experience using AI tools at work, and the judgement to know when their output needs verifying.
A genuine interest in data protection and compliance, with a working knowledge of GDPR concepts and POPIA.
The ability to explain a contractual position clearly to people who are not lawyers.
Comfort working to European business hours alongside colleagues in several countries.
Nice to have
Admission as an attorney. A privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPP/US. Experience with a contract lifecycle management or privacy platform. Experience building a ROPA or data maps. Exposure to ISO 27001 or SOC 2, to automation tooling, or to the technology, cloud or managed services sector.
