As an interim Legal Counsel for the stabilized logistics portfolio in Germany your primary objective is to support the inhouse AM legal counsel 2 [to be fixed] days per week for an initial period of 6 months with a set of legal matters relating to Goodman’s stabilized logistics assets in Germany

More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:

  • Negotiate, draft and review a set of agreements, including facility management agreements, brokerage agreements, consulting agreements and service/framework agreements (e.g. snow removal and other services).
  • Review and manage legal correspondence with customers and service providers, including payment demands, claims for damages, notices of termination, the exercise of options, exchange of guarantees, lease-related service charges and indexation discussions, as well as other legal correspondence and warranty bond matters.
  • Advise on general legal issues arising internally or raised by customers and service providers, including the interpretation of legal clauses (e.g. relating to terms and deadlines, required landlord consent, service charges, late payment fees and indexation topics).
  • Negotiate, draft and review contracts relating to renewable energy and other energy related projects (EPC contracts, framework agreements, PPA’s, charging agreement,...)
  • Support in the maintenance of the country’s legal templates in line with agreed templates at CE level (e.g. lease agreements, GC contracts, framework agreements…) used as a starting base for negotiations​
  • Involving and liaising with approved 3rd party legal advisors in an effective and cost efficient manner.
  • Advise on and manage legal issues regarding energy (BESS, PV, EVCI,...) and sustainability topics.

Do you recognize yourself?

  • German lawyer (at least first state exam or Master Wirtschaftsrecht)
  • Knowledge of contract law and energy law relating to real estate asset management with a strong interest in a broad spectrum of relevant regulatory changes
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-legal stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with a strong eye for meeting deadlines;
  • High ethical standards and professionalism living Goodman’s values of innovation, determination, integrity and sustainability by example;
