This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of legal tech innovation, influencing the future of how legal work gets done.As a Legal Engineer, you will work closely with the Product team totranslatehowlawyersthink into AI driven insights.You will combine strongcommercialcontractacumenwith acuriosityfor AI to bridge theintersectionof law,productand technology.

Whatyou’lldo…

• Collaborate closely withProduct and Design toidentifyhigh value opportunities and use casesto savein-house legal time and effort throughAIassistedworkflowsand AI driven insights.

• Translate legal reasoningandsubject matterexpertiseinto structured product requirements and prompts.

• Partner with engineering to design, test and improveAIextraction schemas, normalisationmodelsandworkflows

• Partner with engineering to define frameworks that evaluate legal accuracy and risk in model outputs.

• Continuously improve legal accuracy through prompt tuning.

• LawVu’sWorkspaceIntelligence products reflectreal-world legal reasoningwith accurateinsightsthat in-house legal deeply trust.

• LawVu’sAI powered workflows are aligned with how in house legal work,withappropriatehumanin the loop safeguards to minimise risk,whilst delivering measurablereductions in manual effort required by our customers.

• TheProduct teamoperatewith a shared understanding of how legal workhappens in practice, and deeper appreciation of legal nuance, enabling faster time to value.

Whatyou'llneed:

• Qualified lawyer with5+ yearscommercial contractexperience(ideally in house)

• Deepunderstanding of contract obligations and risk

• Experience completing contract analysis at scale

• Deep systems thinker

• Curiousabout AI, andwilling to work closely with product AI systems.Prior experience with prompt engineering,data modelling or evaluation frameworksis a bonus.

• Familiarity with the legal tech landscape, and contract lifecycle management

• Excellent ability to distillegal nuance and complex concepts intoplain languageand actionable recommendations.

• Bias for pragmatism and progress over perfection and awillingnessto experiment and learn fast

• Experience with legal tech, CLM systems or AIassistedcontract analysis

• Willing to work in a dynamic fast-paced, scale-up environment.

NZ (Wellington or Tauranga preferred, remote will be considered for the right person)
