Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on, dynamic, and experienced Legal Director who will report directly to the Co-CEO and be an integral part of our management team.

At Obilet, Türkiye’s leading travel ticketing platform, this role will be responsible for managing all legal processes at both strategic and operational levels across the company, with a strong focus on litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory enforcement. The scope includes, but is not limited to, Contract Management, E-Commerce and Consumer Regulations, Data Privacy (GDPR), Competition Law, Intellectual Property, Labor and Tax Law, Litigation, and Compliance.

The Legal Director will play a key role in supporting Product Development, Commercial Operations, and Partnerships, while also contributing to the company’s strategic decision-making from a legal perspective.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage the legal team and external counsel, ensuring efficient coordination and high-quality outputs

  • Lead and manage all legal aspects of the business, including interpreting and operationalizing the Shareholders’ Agreement

  • Act as a strategic legal partner to the CEO, Board, and management team, providing clear and actionable guidance on complex matters

  • Define and execute legal strategy aligned with business objectives, anticipating risks and delivering balanced solutions

  • Own and drive end-to-end legal processes across commercial, regulatory, and strategic domains

  • Lead and oversee all dispute resolution, litigation, enforcement, and regulatory proceedings, including strategy development and end-to-end case management

  • Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business priorities, risk exposure, and commercial objectives

  • Manage complex and high-impact disputes, ensuring commercially sound and risk-aware outcomes in close coordination with external counsel

  • Provide hands-on legal support for product campaigns and new business models

  • Draft, review, and negotiate critical agreements with business partners, vendors, and payment providers

  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments in relevant markets and proactively guide the business

  • Manage and coordinate legal relationships and corporate processes with the main shareholder

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including e-commerce, consumer protection, data privacy, and competition law

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable law school (an LLM degree will be an asset)

  • Minimum 15 years of professional legal experience, combining both the private sector and a top-tier legal consultancy firm

  • Familiarity with digital platforms, e-commerce, travel sectors, or marketplace business models is a plus

  • Start-up or fast-paced, high-growth environments experience is preferred

  • Proven expertise in corporate, commercial, contracts, data privacy, and competition law

  • Strong hands-on experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and managing complex legal cases

  • Experience working closely with senior leadership teams

  • Advanced experience in commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex agreements

  • Strong command of regulatory frameworks, compliance, and risk management, with the ability to embed these into business operations

  • A mindset to not only manage but also personally execute, delivering outputs at a “client-ready” level

  • Fluent in Turkish and English (written & spoken)
